Why You Should Breathe Deeper?

Hello there friend. I would like to share with you the breathing techniques I learned based on my experience and what I learned from others. I do this daily to keep me balanced, and to help me get perspective. First, pick your technique:

The 9-7-4-4:

This means doing a 9-second inhale, then holding your breath for 7 seconds, then 4 seconds half exhale, and lastly 4 seconds full exhale.

The 5-5-5:

This basically means doing each one of these steps for 5 seconds each (5 seconds inhale, 5 seconds hold, 5 seconds exhale).

Instead of shallow breathing, one of the many benefits of good breathing, breathing consciously, and breathing mindfully is the health benefits.

It has grounding benefits… grounding us in the present moment and just being able to stop and pause and to see what’s going on with us and around us.

Proper breathing techniques have direct ties to relaxation and stress reduction. Breathing can keep us calm and it can keep us tranquil (breathing creates a whole sense of tranquility), only if we are stopping, slowly & mindfully breathing.

Another benefit is it helps us keep perspective. It not only affects the body, but it also affects the mind and the functions of the brain. If we stop and breathe consciously and mindfully, it gets us out of fight or flight mode. It allows us to have that space before we act or react to every circumstance we are facing…
